Build MCC Strong
for our Future

Referendum August 10, 2021
The Marshall County Central School Board is excited to announce proposed improvements for our district. Community meetings and strategic planning sessions held prior to the pandemic set the groundwork for this plan. Due to a steady increase in student population, priority on safety, and expanded programming, now is the time for change.
This informational video explains the needs, proposed improvements, and financial impacts of the upcoming referendum. Mail-in balloting begins June 25th and election day is August 10.

THE NEED
Safety is our top priority. Students travel between buildings in Newfolden multiple times every day, which creates problems. Also, steady enrollment growth since 2013 means we're running out of space. We need to add to our schools and reconfigure some of our existing spaces.

THE PLAN
New elementary classrooms, gymnasium, kitchen, and cafeteria are being proposed at the high school site. The elementary site will be converted to parking, recreation amenities, and a building for NWRIC. A new cafeteria and classroom addition are planned at Viking Elementary.
